International experience exchange medical conference attended by Korean and Kazakhstan delegations completed in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to Nurtas Kazybayev, deputy chief surgery doctor of the President’s Central Clinical Hospital, 6 Korean doctors consulted 200 patients free of charge on October 1. “Our hospital uses minimally invasive surgery, which means less traumatic. Patients recover after the surgery much faster and are able to walk and talk straight away,” Kazybayev said. “70 percent of all surgeries in our hospital are minimally invasive, while all surgeries are minimally invasive in gynecology.” However, Kazybayev stressed that there is still a necessity for traditional surgeries. The doctor noted, that “the reports of Kazakhstan doctors were at high level and no worse than those of the Korean ones.” Doctors from 6 South Korean hospitals arrived in Almaty for the conference. They shared their experience and established relations with Kazakhstan doctors. The event was held under the year of Korea in Kazakhstan. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that open heart surgery was performed in Almaty on September 14 for the first time in Almaty Central Clinical Hospital. The goal of the cardiac surgeons was to restore blood flow using the veins from the patient’s right leg. The surgery was successful. By Roza Yessenkulova
