Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has called UK’s companies to invest into non-extraction industries of the Kazakh economy, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing him as saying at the Kazakh – British forum held in Astana. “Even if companies enter the country’s O&G sector, the condition is to bring technology to some non-extraction sector (…) There are enough UK’s companies such as British Petroleum, British Gas operating in the O&G sector (…) They have invested over $12 billion. We need investments into machinery building, infrastructure, construction, medicine, education, science”, President said. During the UK’s Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to Kazakhstan businesses of the two nations signed 14 agreements and MoUs totally worth about $1 billion.
