Kazakhstan people don’t eat that much meat as they think they do. Luxembourg citizens are the greatest meat-eaters. Every resident of this small European country eats 136.5 kilograms of meat (43.8 kg of beef, 45.5 kg of pork, 39.8 kg of poultry, 1.7 kg of lamb and 5.8 kg of other kinds of meat), Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to The Economist report based on the 2007 UN Food and Agriculture Organization statistics. There are 177 countries in the rating. The USA (125 kg a year), Australia (120.9 kg a year), New Zealand (115.5 kg a year), and Spain (109.6 kg a year) are ranked second, third, fourth and fifth correspondingly. French Polynesia, Austria, Israel, Canada and the Bahamas are also among the Top-10 meat-eaters. Rwanda (5.4 kg per person a year), Burundi (4.9 kg), DR Congo (4.5 kg), and Bangladesh (4 kg) citizens are the least fond of meat. But India is the most vegetarian country in the world with 3.2 kg of meat a year per a person. Kazakhstan is ranked 48th in the list. Every Kazakhstan citizen eats 67.2 kilograms of meat a year. This includes 26.3 kg of beef, 15.1 kg of pork, 13.3 kg of poultry, 8 kg of lamb and 4.4 kg of other kinds of meat. Russia is ranked 56th (60.3 kg).
