Kazakhstan is considering accession into the Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), Novosti Kazakhstan reports, citing KazKosmos National Space Agency. KazKosmos representatives met APSCO representatives to study opportunities which could be brought about following Kazakhstan’s accession into the Organization. The Kazakh side headed by Vice Chairman of the Agency Erkin Shaimagambetov made a presentation of the Kazakhstan’s space exploration program. The Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) is an inter-governmental organization operated as a non-profit independent body with full international legal status. It is headquartered in Beijing, People's Republic of China. Members include agencies from: Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, and Thailand.A major objective of the Organization is to promote cooperation, joint development, and to share achievements among the Member States in space technology and its applications as well as in space science research.
