The number of domain names in Kazakhstan in January-June 2012 grew 9.4 percent (by 7,394) compared to the same period in 2011 and reached 73,984, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. According to Kazakhstan Network Information Center (KazNIC), 75,285 names are registered in .kz domain. 63.5 percent of them are active, 33.2 percent show errors and 2.96 percent transfer users to another page. 85.55 percent of the domains are registered in Kazakhstan, 6.64 percent in Russia, 1.6 percent in the United States and 1.04 percent in Germany. KazNIC established in 1999 is an administrator that manages .KZ top-level domain.
