Nursultan Nazarbayev talked about defects in implementation of the Industrialization Map, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Almost 60 percent of all the implemented projects of the Industrialization Map fall ino the agrarian sector and construction industry: this is a result of our loud proclamations on every street corner. Only 5 of 31 major projects (which is 90 percent of the total volume of investments) are related to production of finished goods. 11 projects include production of goods of lower processing stage that we don’t need. The defects are evident,” the President said at the government meeting on January 27. “Dynamics of development of light industry and pharmaceutics was low in 2011. While the pharmaceutical industry is developing a little, we have totally forgotten about the light industry. Leather and wool are not processed. Does anyone in the government have the detailed analysis of why that has happened?” the Head of State said. He instructed the Minister of Economic Development and Trade to solve the issue and promote the country's economy. “Today I instruct Massimov, Akhmetov (Serik Akhmetov, first Vice Prime-Minister) and Samruk-Kazyna to prepare an analyses and a clear picture on how each of these projects helps diversification of our economy. We need to continue working on and looking for new projects for production of commodities with high added value,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
