The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan is planning to build an elevator plant in cooperation with a Chinese company in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the Ministry's press-service. "The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan in cooperating with Chinese Shenyang Brilliant Elevator Co., Ltd is working on a project of setting up an elevator production plant in Kazakhstan,” the Ministry's press-service told KazTAG. The project's total amount of funding makes almost $60 million. It is expected to create 450-600 jobs. The localization level at the initial stages will make 50%, and later will be advanced to 70-80%. Kazakhstan already has a running elevator manufacturing plant with Belarus. The project is jointly run by Pavlodar-based Irtish-Lift and Belarus MogilevLiftMash. They have manufactured 252 elevators in Kazakhstan so far.
