Acrobats from Almaty became third at the International Circus Festival of the best world equilibrists, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to KTK TV channel. Serik troop won the bronze medal in famous International Circus Festival that was held in Spanish Albacete. Circus teams from 16 countries participated in the contest. Kazakhstan acrobats performed a unique trick with a ladder that no other Kazakhstan acrobat is able to repeat. Only few equilibrists from the former USSR could perform this trick before. According to Batyr Zhanuzak, Kazakh State Circus artist everybody assured them before the Festival that it was impossible to win without a clout. However the equilibrists managed to perform properly and to win the bronze. It took the Almaty acrobats four years to prepare the trick. They will travel to Cuba in August this year to participate in one more circus festival. “There were only two such acts in Moscow circus school and those guys who performed it were Masters of Sports. Our Almaty guys are quite inexperienced, they have come to the Circus when they were 15-16-year old and all of a sudden they got the bronze! To be honest I was surprised. I didn’t expect them to win,” Yerzhan Konurbayev, National Circus School’s balancing art teacher said to the TV channel.
