Tengrinews.kz - Employees of the Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the "Cyberpol" of the Almaty Police Department detained a foreign citizen who used illegal SIM-box equipment, according to Polisia.kz.
It is indicated that he found a job through Telegram, after which he arrived in Almaty with illegal equipment.
It is noteworthy that this same citizen had previously appeared in the investigation of a similar case that was recorded in Atyrau.
A criminal case has been opened on the facts of using the SIM box. The detainee was placed in a temporary detention facility with the consent of the prosecutor's office. Investigative actions are ongoing.
Earlier, law enforcement agencies in Karaganda stopped the activities of the organizer of a large cyber fraud scheme. A 22-year-old citizen of one of the neighboring countries was detained, suspected of illegally changing the identification codes of mobile devices to deceive citizens.
