Tengrinews.kz – First Deputy Chief Military Prosecutor Maksat Kaziev provided an update on the investigation into the case of conscript soldier Yerbayan Mukhtar, who suffered a severe head injury during service and became incapacitated.
According to Kaziev, the investigation is still ongoing.
"A comprehensive set of investigative and operational measures is being carried out. At this time, we cannot disclose the results of the investigation in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Code, as it involves the interests of multiple individuals. The investigation is under the special supervision of the General Prosecutor's Office and the Chief Military Prosecutor. The National Guard is in contact with the parents," Kaziev stated.
He also added that there are currently no specific suspects in the case—only a "circle of individuals" being examined.
To recall: Yerbayan Mukhtar was hospitalized in December 2023. He underwent five surgeries, but none were successful. The National Guard unit where he served told his parents that he had fallen in the restroom and hit his head on the tiles.
At the same time, the National Guard denied that the soldier could have been assaulted.
