This October, Kazakhstanis will enjoy an additional day off due to Republic Day, which has been a public holiday since 2022. The holiday, first established in 1990, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR (Soviet Socialist Republic).
The holiday falls on a Friday this year, allowing many citizens to enjoy a three-day weekend, with consecutive days off on October 25, 26, and 27 for those working a five-day week.
For those on a six-day workweek, the situation differs slightly. October 25 will be a day off, but they will need to work on October 26. However, October 27 will again be a day off.
The holiday schedule:
- October 25, Friday – Republic Day, official holiday;
- October 26, Saturday – regular holiday;
- October 27, Sunday – regular holiday.
