Tengrinews.kz - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has secured enough Electoral College votes to officially confirm his victory in the presidential election, according to CNN.

Tengrinews.kz - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has secured enough Electoral College votes to officially confirm his victory in the presidential election, according to CNN.

The decisive moment came with Trump receiving 40 electoral votes from Texas during Tuesday’s session. Despite winning the election on November 5, his victory was formally validated through the constitutional process of Electoral College voting.

Trump secured 304 votes, surpassing the required 270, while his opponent, Kamala Harris, received 167 votes.

Earlier, a U.S. court declined to overturn a jury's guilty verdict against Trump. This makes Donald Trump the first president in U.S. history to be convicted on criminal charges.
