Kazakhstan Prime-Minister met with UN Deputy Secretary-General Yuriy Fedotov on June 14, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister's Twitter. “The war against illegal drugs is a fight for the nation's survival. Met with UN Deputy Secretary General Y.Fedotov,” Massimov tweeted and added that “Globally the illicit drugs trade represent GDP of 30th largest economy in the world.” Fedotov heads UN delegation at the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit to be held in Astana on June 15. The SCO Antidrug strategy has been signed at the summit. Earlier, Tengrinews.kz English reported that Secretariat of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in countering terrorism, illegal drug trafficking and organized crime.
