New hospital flooded in South Kazakhstan

New hospital was flooded by overflow waters in Badam village of South-Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports. 20 patients were transferred to the central hospital of the region. 364 million tenge ($2.5 million) of budget funds were spent on construction of the hospital. It was put into operation in January 2012. The flood damaged the basement, where kitchen, laundry and autoclave were located. All the euipment in the basement is now not usable, the doctors complain. The floods destroyed 13 buildings in the region. According to rescuers, the water flooded 221 yards and 90 houses. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that 2 thousand people were evacuated in South Kazakhstan oblast. No casualties were reported.
