Guzel Manyurova, London Olympic Games bronze-winner, has taken the lead of Kazakhstan national women’s team, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Vesti.kz. “Talgat Yermegiyayev, head of Kazakhstan's Sports and Physical Education Agency, said that he wanted me to be captain of Kazakhstan national team and also added that I’ve got enough strength to work in this field for the benefit of the country,” Manyurova said. According to her, she will do her best to develop the team. “This is an honor for me and a big responsibility. The authorities believe in me,” the Olympic prize-winner said. Manyurova also added that she would start with appointment of the team’s director. “You know, there are a lot of unresolved issues here. We don’t even have a chief of the team. Moreover, the team has no reserve members. And we need to resolve these issues. The former staff of coaches followed the path of the least resistance and strengthened the team by buying legionnaires. I’d like to put a stake on local wrestlers and bring up the youth. There is a great deal to do,” she said.
