According to preliminary calculations parliamentary elections voter turnout in Kazakhstan made 75.1 percent (6,980 thousand people), Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the Central Election Commissions (CEC). The CEC is still expecting data from 56 polling stations that operating in foreign diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan. Here is a layout of voter turnout by area as of 8 p.m. (Astana time) January 15: 53.3 percent in Astana, 41.4 percent in Almaty, 78 percent in Akmola oblast, 78.4 percent in Aktobe oblast, 92.6 percent in Almaty oblast, 83.6 percent in Atyrau oblast, 80.2 percent in East Kazakhstan oblast, 80.8 percent in Zhambyl oblast, 71.9 percent in West Kazakhstan oblast, 75.2 percent in Karaganda oblast, 84.8 percent in Kostanay oblast, 81 percent in Kyzylorda oblast, 74.2 percent in Mangistau oblast, 71 percent in Pavlodar oblast, 80.7 percent in North Kazakhstan oblast, 78.8 percent in South Kazakhstan oblast. All the polling stations continue ballots counting. The next briefing of the CEC is scheduled to be held at noon on January 16.
