KazAtomProm is going to increase wages by 10-20% in 2011, Tengrinews.kz correspondent reports citing the company’s chairman Vladimir Shkolnik. During today’s meeting of national companies and holdings that gathered to discuss social responsibilities of businesses, Shkolnik announced that his employees involved in heavy industrial production will get a 10-20% pay rise in 2011. “Now we are responsible for 30% share in mining and production of uranium and its sales. We ranked first last year. And we want to send part of the revenues into improvement of our people life standards,” Vladimir Shkolnik said. 604 jobs was created last year as part of KazAtomProm’s social program. Average wages of KazAtomProm employees made 148 thousand tenge ($1000) in 2010. This year heads of all the subsidiaries will have to move their residences close to the locations of KazAtomProm’s production facilities.
