Tengrinews.kz - The smartphone verification procedure in Kazakhstan may become paid in the future, head of the Telecommunications Committee at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Damir Seissembekov, said at a briefing.
Currently, the verification process remains free, but changes could be introduced.
“We have decided that, for now, there is no need to confirm payment of a fee or provide any additional documents for verification. This is intended to make the process more convenient for citizens and allow for an adaptation period. However, the rules may be revised later, and a paid procedure might be introduced. If that happens, we will announce it in due course,” Seissembekov said.
Earlier, he also noted that the deadline for free smartphone verification for individuals has been extended until June 25. After that date, Kazakhstanis will still be able to return an unverified smartphone to the seller, even if more than two weeks have passed since the purchase.
