Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan is making consistent investments in human capital development, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the 38th plenary session of the Foreign Investors' Council in Astana, according to Akorda.

Speaking at the meeting, Tokayev said two next-generation schools – TUMO and Tomorrow School – have been launched at the Alem.ai International Center for Artificial Intelligence.

"Together with international partners, including Telegram and Presight, we have established state-of-the-art research laboratories. Artificial intelligence is being widely integrated into Kazakhstan's education system. I recently signed a decree making AI a central element of the modernization of secondary education. It will be introduced as a tool to enhance teachers' capabilities, not replace them. The decree provides for the creation of a personalized learning system, the strengthening of digital infrastructure, improvements to the legal framework, and the modernization of educational standards," the President said.

Tokayev also announced the launch of a pilot project that will later be expanded nationwide. The initiative aims to reduce the gap in education quality between urban and rural schools while ensuring every child has access to high-quality education in the AI era.

The President noted that artificial intelligence is becoming a decisive factor in improving public administration.

"Kazakhstan is taking a proactive approach and building the institutional capacity needed to become a leader in this transformation. Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, a globally recognized AI expert and member of Kazakhstan's Council for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, recently conducted an AI training seminar for senior government officials at the Alem.ai International Center for Artificial Intelligence in Astana. The seminar focused on the strategic use of AI in public administration, including AI-driven operating models, AI agents, and the development of Kazakhstan's national AI technology stack. Regular training programs for civil servants will accelerate AI adoption and improve the efficiency of public administration," Tokayev said.

The President also announced that Kazakhstan is establishing the region's first specialized university dedicated to artificial intelligence.

"This unique university will become a center for advanced research, innovation, and the training of highly qualified specialists. By investing in education, talent, and technology, we are laying a solid foundation for Kazakhstan's national AI ecosystem," he said.
