Kazhydromet warns Astana and Almaty residents

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued warnings about weather conditions for residents of Astana, Almaty, and three other cities.
"On October 21, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Almaty, Karaganda, Temirtau, and at night in Astana and Kostanay," the report says.
Adverse meteorological conditions are characterized by a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, and inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the lower atmosphere.
Forecasters also presented a weather outlook and warnings for dangerous weather events across Kazakhstan on October 21.
"As atmospheric frontal systems move across much of the country, rain is expected, with thunderstorms in the southern and southeastern regions. Heavy rains are anticipated at night in the western and northwestern parts of the country, while northern areas are forecasted to receive precipitation (rain and snow) during the night hours. Fog is expected in the south, east, and center of Kazakhstan, along with increased wind speeds," meteorologists reported.
In the western and central areas of the Zhetysu region, temperatures are expected to drop to around -3 degrees Celsius at night.
Meteorologists have presented the long-awaited weather forecast for the upcoming winter of 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan.
