Tengrinews.kz - Transport prosecutors of Almaty have stopped the smuggling of goods worth over 100 million tenge.
The smuggled goods, which were discovered during customs control at the Almaty airport, have been transferred to the republic's property.
"In one of the postal parcels, jewelry with diamonds was found, which arrived from the USA under the guise of toys with false documents. At the request of the transport prosecutor's office, the Turksib district court transferred the seized jewelry worth 60 million tenge to the state ownership," the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
It is indicated that at another request of the Almaty transport prosecutor's office, the court transferred to the property of Kazakhstan goods worth over 48 million tenge, which arrived from Turkey under the guise of geotextiles.
Earlier, cigarette smuggling to Poland was intercepted at the Kazakhstan border.
