Resident of the multi-story building are afraid to live in their apartments. The building was constructed under the state program for state employees, KTK reports. Teachers and doctors living in the building complain that it is falling apart in front of their own eyes: the plaster is falling off, fungus is growing on the walls, cockroaches and centipedes are getting in the apartments through the holes, while cracks have appeared and are multiplying all over the building. The residents fear that their building will have the same destiny as the one in Bessoba region in Karaganda. The Karaganda five story building tumbled down into ruins in 5 days after a massive crack had appeared. There is no gas, water and heating in the building. "The basements are completely flooded. Moreover, there is no access to pipes and it is impossible to check them, as they are walled up in the floor. Water was gushing from the basement flooding the apartments on the first floor," the building's resident Nadezhda Fyodorova said. Meanwhile, the constructors insist that the residents are dramatizing. "Honestly, the cracks are not big enough to effect the strength of the building. After commissioning, the building survived two winters, thus, the result is evident (it is still standing)," senior expert of Astana kurylys Ualikhan Bekbassov explained.
