Crowd gathered near local administration building in Aktau

A crowd of people has gathered at the Yntymak square near the Akimat (regional administration building) of Mangistau Oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the message of Akim’s (Governor’s) Political Advisor Zhanna.
“ People gathered by 11 in the morning (noon Astana time). But is it all calm there, they are just standing at the square. There are cordons on high alert everywhere, but no one is on the move. Everything is under control. (...) There were about 50 people. At about 11 a.m. I came out of the Akimat building. They were standing there. Policemen are standing there all the time, too. The police was there yesterday, and today. The Policemen are armed,” Oishybayeva told Tengrinews.kz.
On December 16 there were certain “anxieties” in Aktau, according to an official representative of General Prosecution’s Office. People gathered with an intention to support riots in Zhanaozen, another western city. But after representatives of law enforcement bodies came out to them and they talked the people dispersed on their own.
