Astana up to third place in Dakar's overall

Kazakhstan team Astana completed the ninth stage of Dakar at the fourth place, the tournament’s official website writes. Italian racer Miki Biasion won this stage of the race. Astana crew led by Arthur Ardavichus is 8 minutes 54 seconds behind the leader. One of the leaders, the winner of the previous stage Ales Loprais left the race because of a severe accident. Astana is ranked third in the general classification. Gerard De Rooy still leads the general classification. Five stages to the end of the race Ardavichus is 1 hour 6 minutes behind De Rooy. Astana is 1 hour 19 minutes ahead of Spanish racer Pep Vila who is ranked fourth in the general classification. The 10th stage of the race will be held today, January 11, between Chilean cities Iquique and Arica.
