The Kazakhstan team won 5:0 over Argentina Condors in yesterday’s return match in Almaty. In the first fight of the night – Kazakhstan’s Bantamweight (54kg) Bagdad Alimbekov prevailed over Argentinian Ignacio Perrin. The Kazakhstan boxer took hold of the initiative at the ring starting from the first round and did not lease his grasp and kept pressuring him until the end of the fight. Perrin could not win even a single round from him. Kazakhstan’s Bagdad Alimbekov won 3:0. Argentinian Lightweight (61kg) failed to appear at the ring so Kazakhstan team won by a walkover. Argentinian Brian Nunez failed to obtain a visa prior to the match and this cost his team points. He was supposed to fight against Yerzhan Musafirov of Kazakhstan. The Middleweight (73kg) bout between Israeli Konstantin Snigur who is caped for Astana Arlans and Argentinian Henrri Polanko was yet another success for Kazakhstan. After the first round Snigur took the lead and kept it for a unanimous decision. Arlans’ Light Heavyweight (85kg) Iranian legionary Ehsan Rouzbahani won over Facundo Nahuel Simal. He confindently won 2 rounds of unanimous judges, but in the third round two of the judges decided that Simal won the round. This did not spoil the overall victory however. This victory was a decisive ticket to the semifinals for Astana Arlans. Facundo Nahuel Simal was the Argentinian boxer saved by his underwear during weight-in prior to the match. He had to weight-in completely naked to save himself from an overweight loss, but the bout showed that the solution was only temporary. The final match saw Ukrainian Heavyweight Roman Kapitonenko caped for Kazakhstan flatten Angel Daniel Villalba. The Argentinian received a warning in the first round and was disqualified in the third round. This was not the first match between Kazakhstan and Argentina this season. The Condors edged the first leg 3-2 in Buenos Aires last weekend, but with home advantage the Arlans were unbeatable and yielded not a single point to the Argentinians triumphantly advancing to the semi-finals on the aggregate victory to the delight of the Kazakhstan audience of Almaty Towers business center.
