Lukashenko informs Nazarbayev on outcomes of Normand Four talk in Minsk

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have discussed the Normand Talk between Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Minsk on the phone, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.


President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have discussed the Normand Talk between Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France in Minsk on the phone, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.

In the phone call initiated by Lukashenko, the Belarusian President informed Nazarbayev of the results of the peaceful summit held between the Normand Four that took place from February 11 to 12.

During the 16-hour negotiations the parties arrived at a declaration, which envisions the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine starting February 15. The declaration also provides for the withdrawal of all armed forces including all illegal groups as well as exchange and release hostages and other illegally detained individuals.

The Kazakhstan President thanked his counterpart for providing the information and congratulated Lukashenko on the successful completion of the highly important negotiations. Nazarbayev expressed hope in the soonest peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.

Nazarbayev and Lukashenko also agreed on a meeting between Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia in the nearest future in Kazakhstan.
