France wants to teach Astana EXPO

France has offered help to Astana in holding the international exhibition EXPO-2017, Tengrinews.kz reports citing French Minister of Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq as saying at the 4th international investment forum AstanaInvest 2013. “The fact that Astana has been elected to host the EXPO-2017 means that the country will have a continuous development. France wants to contribute to successful holding of this event. We want to be future investors and I suggest that Astana mayor travels to France to meet with companies and tell about Astana and how EXPO-2017 will be organized,” Bricq said. According to her, holding the EXPO will require meeting certain conditions. In particular, this includes environmental protection, dynamic development of the capital for it to be ready to accommodate an increased number of guests, coordination of preparations between public and private sectors, economic efficiency. She added that France’s traditional skills lay in “its ability to flexibly create” the conditions. “Our companies have experience in development of sustainable cities.
