Kazakhstan has the highest cost of mobile communications in the former soviet space, KazTAG reports citing press-service of Comnews Research company.
“Kazakhstan is one of the top three countries among CIS countries by the level of penetration of cellular services, volume of profits, as well as the average cost of one minute of calls,” the message of Comnews Research states. The company’s analysts say that strive to the population to economize on cellular communications in Kazakhstan “is conditioned by their high cost.”
“This country (Kazakhstan) maintains the highest cost of communications among CIS countries: one minute of calls costs Kazakhs 113 percent more than Russians and is 3 times more than Kyrgyzs,” analysts say in the report.
The average cost of one minute duirng the crisis and post-crisis period (from the end of 2008 and to the end of 2010) decreased by 37 percent. Average annual decrease of cellular communication costs is 20 percent in Kazakhstan.
