Tengrinews.kz - During the plenary session of the Astana Think Tank Forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was asked about the role of middle powers in strengthening the UN's status and promoting multilateralism, according to the Akorda press service.

The Head of State said that Kazakhstan is firmly committed to multilateralism.

"We believe the modern and future world must be universal and based on the UN Charter principles. Adherence to the UN Charter is essential, as it is the foundation of the international order. While there may be criticism and disappointment with the UN, we must unite to end wars and conflicts and promote dialogue. For Kazakhstan, peaceful coexistence and development are crucial for continuing reforms and achieving our strategic goals. We have significant tasks ahead to strengthen the country's political and economic potential. Therefore, we advocate for peace and appreciate our partners in multifaceted cooperation. Kazakhstan is open to international markets and aims to attract foreign direct investment by creating favorable conditions for new entrants," the President concluded.
