PHOTO: Famous Kazakhstan painter introduced Almaty with nomads' heritage

A famous Kazakhstan painter and sculptor Serzhan Bashirov offered Almaty residents to take a dip into nomad's history and heritage, Tengrinews.kz reports. The last exhibition of the artist in Almaty took place back in 1998. Since then he became popular in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries and receive several prizes in the United States, Paris, Russia and Hungary. Bashirov is famous not only for his paintings and sculptures, he also makes pins, bracelets and rings. Both new and old creations of Bashirov were represented at the exhibition. According to the artist, the cost of his works varies from 70 thousand to 500 thousand tenge ($479 to $3,500). Creation of some of his paintings took him up to two years. However, if the muse visits him, he can create an exclusive masterpiece in two weeksm the artist said. The painter's motherland in Eastern Kazakhstan left a strong impact on Bashirov's work. The painter said that he has an 11-year-old daughter who already started painting. He also said that she is the only one also fond of art in his family. The painter is not planning to stop at his achievements, he is planning to show his new works of art pretty soon.
