Tengrinews.kz - The rules for providing anesthesiological and resuscitation care may be changed in Kazakhstan. The corresponding draft order was published by the Ministry of Healthcare.
The new version of the rules proposes to introduce a new chapter - the "Open Resuscitation" principle. This will allow for the organization of the presence of parents or legal representatives of children in the intensive care unit.
"The ‘Open Resuscitation’ principle is applicable to children with disabilities, with oncohematological diseases, in need of palliative care, dying children, orphans and children left without parental care, in all departments of medical organizations," the document says.
The developers note that the amendments will help improve the quality of medical care. In other countries where this practice is used, for example in Russia, this has improved the team approach in resuscitation between the participants in providing care and contributed to the growth of the professional level of doctors, mid-level medical personnel, and their communication. The measures also allow relatives and parents to become accomplices in caring for intensive care patients, which reduces the number of complaints.
The family-oriented approach also assumes that family members participate in assessing the quality of services received. In general, all this has a positive effect not only on the child's condition but also on the progress of the service, improving the quality of work, and increasing respect and trust in the healthcare system.
The draft order will be publicly discussed until February 28. Its full version can be found here.
