Kazakhstan can be a halal center in Central Asia, Tengrinews.kz reports. Today, June 6, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak met President Nazarbayev in Akorda, President’s Palace in Astana. According to President Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is interested in developing joint projects with Malaysia in agriculture, notably in halal industry. An MoU was signed today to develop a halal agriculture complex in Zhambyl oblast in the South of Kazakhstan. According to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Malaysia sees Kazakhstan as a halal center in Central Asia. Halal is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law.
