Kazakhstan President Nazarbayev has instructed to improve the quality of cellular communications, Tengrinews.kz reports from the meeting in Akorda (Presidential Residence) that covered preparation for EXPO-2017. “If the cellular operators continue working as bad as they do now in Astana… when one can’t call anywhere for various reasons: not prepaid, roaming, etc. Askar Zhumagaliyev (Minister of Transport and Communications), please deal with this issue. If they keep working like today, we will disgrace ourselves. So many people will come to Kazakhstan and will not be able to make calls. What are you doing right now? There should have already been some order in this area,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said. Earlier President instructed to work out an architectural symbol of Astana before the international exhibition and banned sale of land around the capital. Besides, Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed Astana administration and Astana Akim (Mayor) Imangali Tasmagambetov personally to ensure development of Smart-Astana program and review the city’s development plan.
