Kazakhstan launches a website to promote its People’s IPO Program

Kazakhstan has launched a website to promote its People’s IPO Program, bnews.kz reports. Speaking at the Nur Otan party congress on February 11, 2011 President Nazarbayev instructed the Government to launch Initial Public Offerings (IPO) for common people. The program is known as People’s IPO. According to President Nazarbayev, the IPO for the general public will enable citizens to purchase shares of the largest Kazakh companies, giving them a new tool for investments and savings. The newly launched www.halyk-ipo.kz provides recent news on the Program, informing visitors on the participating companies and securities market basics. March 13 Tengrinews.kz reported that Kaztransoil would be the first company to implement the People's IPO program, according to the deputy chairman of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund Kuandyk Bishimbayev.
