Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has ramped up security measures at several of its overseas diplomatic missions following anonymous bomb threats.

On October 14, over sixty Ukrainian diplomatic institutions abroad received anonymous emails claiming that their buildings were mined, according to the ministry's press service. The number of these threats continues to rise, with some also targeting internal departments of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has instructed diplomatic missions to tighten security measures in response to the situation. Ukrainian diplomats are in close contact with local authorities and law enforcement agencies in the host countries to ensure safety checks are conducted where necessary.

In rare cases, consular services had to be temporarily suspended, but they resumed as soon as security checks were completed. Despite the threats, the wave of anonymous bomb warnings has not disrupted the work of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions, and operations continue as usual, according to the ministry.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also working with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and international partners to investigate the coordinated threats and identify those responsible.

Earlier that day, 'Ukrainska Pravda' reported that authorities were conducting checks in response to numerous bomb threats received across different regions of Ukraine. Anonymous emails about bomb threats were sent to government offices, local authorities, and other institutions, including Ukrainska Pravda’s office.

Ukrainian police assured the public that they have sufficient resources to investigate each reported location, and they urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities.
