According to the Police Department of the Mangystau region, the accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. On the Beineu-Tazhen highway, a Jac vehicle collided with a MAN truck that was parked on the roadside, waiting to cross the border.
"There were a total of 10 people in the vehicle. Four of them were hospitalized at the Beyneu Central District Hospital. The condition of the injured is of moderate severity. They are receiving full necessary treatment. Six people died as a result of the traffic accident," the police reported.
It is clarified that all vehicles involved in the accident are registered in Uzbekistan. The victims and deceased are citizens of Uzbekistan who were returning from Russia.
"A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding this incident. The consulate general of Uzbekistan in Aktau has been informed about the incident," the department said.
Previously, a terrible traffic accident involving six cars occurred in Karaganda. The mass accident took place on Amanzholov Street. Footage from the scene has appeared on social media, showing damaged and crumpled cars.
