"There are around 1,000 books in our library, over 500 items, that were donated by Cameco Kazakhstan and worth over 30 million tenge. You can see these are the books we need right now," President of Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu said.
Implementation of this project took four months. The collection includes multi-volume encyclopedias, scientific researches and reference materials in space technologies, telecommunications, business-development, photonics and energy saving, city architecture and electrical engineering. Most of the were published in Canada, Great Britain and the U.S.
"We were discussing the list of books with our professors for a long time, so that it is not only a literature collection, but the collection of books that our students will use in the education process. The next stage was to find and buy these books all over the world, that's why this project took some time. But in the end we are very happy that we have finally completed our first project. We are planning to further support Nazarbayev University," President of Cameco Kazakhstan Galymzhan Pirmatov said.
The books were transferred under the memorandum of cooperation between Nazarbayev University and Cameco Kazakhstan.
