A 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Almaty oblast at 04:32 a.m. (Astana time) on March 14, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center. The hypocenter was registered at the depth of 2km and the epicenter was located 253km east of Almaty, 161km north-west of Aksu, 122km east of Karakol and 59km south of Koshkara. No casualties were reported. According to the press-service of the Seismological Research-Methodical Expedition of Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science, the shocks were felt as 3-magnitude ones in Almaty, while the magnitude reached 5.4 in the epicenter.
