A new deadline for the trial over Kazakhstan students accused of conspiring to destroy evidences in the Boston bombings case has been set to August, Arkady Bukh, the lawyer of one of the students, said. “There will be no hearings in July. A deadline is for us to appear in court so that the judge can make the calendar of the hearings and assign who will holds them and writes petitions, etc.,” Bukh told Interfax-Kazakhstan on the phone. “Even the deadline has been moved to August,” he said. "This is not the date of the trial hearings, but only that of the official appearance in court,” he explained. The lawyers and the prosecutors are currently negotiating their positions, Arkady Bukh said. “After long discussions with the prosecutors, the defenders believe that no well-grounded case has been created against our client,” he said. Two 19-y.o. students from Kazakhstan Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov were charged with conspiring to destroy evidences in the Boston bombings case. According to the investigators, they tried to conceal evidence in the case of Dzhokhar Tsarnayev accused of committing bombings in Boston. They are not charge with involvement in the bombings of their preparations. The students may be sentenced to 5 years in jail and a penalty of $250 thousand. The students have confessed that they took the backpack and the laptop. The evidences were later found at a waste dump. FBI believes that “they took the backpack from Dzhokhar Tsarnayev’s room after they heard on the news that Dzhokhar was suspected of committing the terrorist attack.”
