Tengrinews.kz has contacted the press-service of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies today and the latter has confirmed that starting from today the Head of the Ministry is indeed using a new car, SkodaSuperb B6. The Ministry explained that cars of members of the Ministers’ Cabinet are being replaced as the old ones wear and tear. Minister Issekeshev, as press-service points out, is quite satisfied with the new car. Producer company's website says that business class sedan SkodaSuperb B6 cost ranges from $30,000 to $37,000 depending on specifications. The Minister of Industry and New Technologies said that government of Kazakhstan would switch to locally assembled cars in the nearest two years. Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev bashed government officials for defying his orders and continuing to purchase fancy foreign-made cars at the budget's expense. "We make our own cars, but they want Mercedes! Let them do it out of their own pocket! Ban this immediately," Nazarbayev said.
