Tengrinews.kz — Starting July 10, average speed control will be introduced on several toll roads.
KazAvtoZhol said that, in order to reduce accidents and prevent violations, average speed will be monitored on the following sections:
- Aktobe – Kandyagash;
- Almaty – Khorgos;
- Kokshetau – Petropavlovsk;
- Astana – Temirtau, on the Arshaly – Oshagandy section.
The company noted that the system is being introduced not to punish drivers, but to prevent dangerous behavior on the road.
“Practice shows that speeding remains one of the key factors in serious road accidents. Average speed control makes it possible to record not a one-time violation in front of a camera, but the driver’s actual driving behavior along the entire road section,” KazAvtoZhol said.
Average speed control does not allow drivers to accelerate between cameras and slow down only before reaching them.
Drivers are advised to take speed limits on their route into account in advance, follow road signs and not exceed the established speed limit.
