Fireworks will be a part of the celebrations in Almaty on May 9 timed to 67th anniversary of the victory in World War II, Almaty Culture Department told Tengrinews.kz. The celebrations will start at 09:50 a.m. in the 28 Panfilov’s Guard Park with an armament and military vehicles show. The Minute of Silence will follow the speech of Almaty Akim (Mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov. Kazakhstan National Anthem will then be played by the wind band of Kazakhstan interior troops. A march of honor guard will be followed by a flower-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame monument. The tents and the stage will be installed at the south square in front of the Voznesenskiy Cathedral (Ascension Cathedral). A field kitchen will work at the square. The concert with participation of Kazakhstan State Wind Orchestra will be held at the square from 10:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The celebrations will move to Astana square (the Old Square at the crossing of Tole bi and Abylai-khan streets), where the concert will start at 08:00 p.m. It will be participated by Almaty Akim’s Symphony Orchestra and Kazakhstan pop stars. Military songs will be sung by Aigul Babayeva, Nagima Yeskaliyeva and Medeu Arynbayev. The fireworks will wrap up the celebrations at 10:00 p.m. To make it visible for all Almaty citizens, it will be shot from three locations: from Sairan lake, Astana square and Koktobe TV-tower.
