Business Messaging, also known as Business Chat, allows users to communicate directly with companies through the Messages app. This feature was initially designed as a more convenient alternative to email and web chats on company websites.

In iOS 18.1, this feature is enhanced with RCS (Rich Communication Services) support, which improves compatibility with Android devices and significantly enhances standard SMS messaging.

With RCS, sending videos and GIFs between iPhone and Android retains their full quality. Group chats, read receipts, and typing indicators now work on both platforms.

Fixed random restart issues on iPhone 16 Pro

iOS 18.1 fixes a bug that caused the iPhone 16, especially the Pro and Pro Max models, to freeze and restart during normal use.

The following bugs have been fixed

An issue in the Podcasts app that marked unplayed episodes as played has been resolved.

A problem with 4K 60 fps videos that caused them to freeze on a heated device while scrubbing in the Photos app has been addressed.

A bug with digital car keys that prevented unlocking or starting the car via passive access after restoring from a backup or transferring data from another iPhone has also been fixed.
