Restoration of the language and return of religion in Kazakhstan have to be progressive: Nazarbayev

Kazakhstan needs a thoughtful approach to learning and development of the state language, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying at the annual ceremony of granting of presidential scholarships to cultur leaders. “Kazakhstan is restoring its language, the religion is coming back. Everything needs to be done progressively and according to plans. Currently 30 percent of Kazakhs cannot speak the Kazakh language well. But does that make them less Kazakhs? We need a thoughtful approach, no rush. Everything is going well. Everything we do for development is good. Just look at the fact that no surgeries had been made for heart diseases in our country before, but now their number has reached 10 thousand surgeries already. And this is not only in the capital; so many lives have been saved in different cities. We are reviving kindergartens. There are many programs: Bolashak and the Accelerated Innovative-Industrial Development Program. I have made all of the programs packaged ones. Right now we need to make all the Ministers and accountable persons work,” the President stated. Earlier Nazarbayev advised Kazakhstan young people not to get fascinated with the Arab Spring. Awardees of the state scholarship asked the President to abstain from retiring.
