Tengrinews.kz — From July 10, 2026, average speed control will start operating on five more road sections in Kazakhstan, citing Polisia.kz.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that the system is currently already operating on eight toll sections of national highways with a total length of almost 2,000 kilometers.
From July 10, five more sections with a total length of 525 kilometers will be added:
- Aktobe – Kandyagash;
- Almaty – Khorgos;
- Kokshetau – Petropavlovsk;
- Astana – Temirtau, on the Arshaly – Oshagandy section.
In addition, average speed control may be launched in the future on 14 more toll sections with a total length of about 2,500 kilometers.
“We would like to emphasize that the main purpose of introducing average speed control is not to punish drivers, but to save human lives. According to statistics, speeding remains one of the main causes of road accidents with serious consequences.
We urge all road users to comply with the established speed limit, be attentive and responsible behind the wheel,” said Aktoty Boranova, senior inspector for special assignments at the Administrative Police Committee.
