The United States has banned representatives of Rosselkhoznadzor, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia, from participating in negotiations on adjusting the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Measures in the context of Kazakhstan's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO), Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of Rosselkhoznadzor. The round of talks with participation of Russian experts was scheduled to be held in Washington on March 3-6, 2014. "Less than the day before the flight, the U.S. Embassy notified by an e-mail and a phone call the leader of the Russian negotiation team Deputy Chairman of Rosselkhoznadzo Nikolai Vlassov that the visit of Russian experts was unacceptable for the United States. At that time the negotiation team of Kazakhstan was already on its way to Washington," the message says. Kazakhstan still needs to coordinate its obligations on the import duties within the Customs Union [of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus] with the WTO import duties to join the World Trade Organization.
