Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev has shared his thoughts about the current situation in the world, Tengrinews reports.
“You know that it is not an easy time today in the world. Economic crisis, political crisis associated with the events in Ukraine – it is close to us; the crisis in Middle East, and throughout the world. Alarming news are coming every day, and I hope it would not lead to confrontation, a new cold war. And we all, especially politicians, must be very cautious in this matter,” Nazarbayev said after the state awards ceremony on December 15.
He reminded about Nurly Zhol program that was developed to protect Kazakhstan’s economy and Kazakhstan’s people from the economic crisis. President Nazarbayev announced the new transport and infrastructure program during his annual State-of-the-Nation Address that he delivered ahead of time on November 11.
“The state allocates funds to maintain the efficiency of our enterprises and work places and to prevent the decline of Kazakhstan’s economy. In this context, we have plenty of work to accomplish. Nurly Zhol program is supported not only by our country, but also by the international community. International institutions such as the World Bank, European and Asian banks (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Asian Development Bank), Islamic banks support and co-finance our program. (…) I believe the crisis comes and goes, but we will move forward maintaining the social well-being of our people and strengthening the stability and friendship between our nations,” he concluded.
