Emergency warning loudspeakers to be installed in Astana and Almaty in 2015

Residents of Astana and Almaty cities will be warned about emergency situation through loudspeakers that will be installed in the streets in 2015, STV Channel reports. According to the Emergency Department of Almaty city, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan is planning to modernize the whole system of alarming. "The existing alarming system covers only 75% of the population. Installation of the new voice alarm system will provide of the split second distribution of information about emergency situation throughout the city. Some of the loudspeaker equipment will be installed at building tops, including on administrative buildings,” the Emergency Department said. "The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan has made a plan of introduction of the new alarm system that will be used to warn the residents and help guide the citizens in case of an emergency. First it is planned to install the system in Astana and Almaty and use it starting from 2015," the chief of Civil Defense of Emergency Department of Almaty Yerik Alpysbayev said. These says Kazakhstan uses sirens to warn the residents of earthquakes. The signal calls people to turn on their radio and TVs broadcasting emergency reports and offering guidelines. The Ministry will hold a city-wide seismic training in Almaty tomorrow, on September 25, 2013. This is going to be an exercise, not a real waning. According to Newru.com, Russia is planing to create a special social network for people to warn each other and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia about emergencies and evaluate the level of threat using a special application. The Ministry of Emergencies and other special services will take measures on the cases that require their involvement.
