South-Kazakhstan oblast became the leader by the number of registered cars in January 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Statistics Agency. The total of 42,043 cars were registered in Kazakhstan in January. First three leaders by the number of registered cars are South-Kazakhstan oblast (6,090 cars), Almaty oblast (5,380 cars) and Almaty (5,015 cars). The least number of cars were registered in North-Kazakhstan oblast (1,272 cars) and Kyzylorda oblast (1,320 cars). According to the Agency, 40,049 cars out of 42,043 were registered by the individuals and the remaining 1,994 cars belonged to legal entities. Meanwhile, the number of registered cars over 10 years old have almost doubled compared to January 2011: 12,712 cars older than 10 were registered last January and 27,430 cars were registered this January.
