Erzhan Kazykhanov has been appointed the new Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, replacing Mr. Kanat Saudabayev who held the position from September 2009 Interfax – Kazakhstan reports. Earlier Mr. Kazykhanov (46) served as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador to Austria. Mr. Kazykhanov was born August 21, 1964 in Almaty. In 1987 he graduated from Leningrad State University (Oriental Studies). He has published about 30 articles on cooperation of Kazakhstan with the UN Organizations and even published a book on the subject in 2002.
